MC Maleek
Hailing from Lille, this activist rapper arrived on the scene at Braun BOTY four years ago and never left. Maleek’s commanding voice controls the room, and it’s his vocal authority that ensures events run smoothly. This organizer of the Braun BOTY qualifiers in Northern France commands the respect of the b-boys waiting for his call.
MC Nasty
For over 20 years Nasty has been a Hip Hop activist and one of the main leaders of b-boying in France. Nasty lives and breathes for the local scene, and you will find him working on new projects every weekend. As a DJ, Nasty likes to spins the essence of Hip Hop and delivers some musical genius. He has spun at the Braun BOTY for many years and is widely respected for his dedication to the culture.
DJ Lean Rock
You may recognize this talented DJ from the most recent for the Braun cruZer6 beard&head. Hailing from Boston MA, DJ Lean Rock has been a b-boy for nearly 15 years and a DJ for five. His battling career involves winning numerous top battles such as Out For Fame 2006 US National Championship, United Styles World B-boy Cup 2, Evolution 3, and B-boy Summit. Now, true to his Hip Hop DNA, he goes the extra mile to dig for rare funky breaks and Hip Hop that no one else is spinning.
Ronnie
Another one of our esteemed judges to have appeared in the ‘Turn it Loose’ documentary, this was due to his Red Bull BC One title in Soweto, South Africa. Ronnie is a member of two crews: Full Force and Super Cr3w. Full Force have been together for 12 years and the crew has become like family. Ronnie hit mainstream popularity on MTV after winning the second season of America’s Best Dance Crew with Super Cr3w.
Taisuke
Another b-boy to appear in the documentary ‘Turn it Loose’, Taisuke has become an icon in Japan. The 21-year-old came has already made his mark on the scene by coming second in the Red Bull BC One in 2008. Taisuke began breaking at the age of eight after being inspired by his b-girl sister. His focus has now shifted fully to his b-boy career after recently graduating from the International Dance College in Tokyo. He is widely respected and is already considered a top-tier b-boy amongst his peers.
Karim Barouche
Karim is one of the pioneers of the French Hip Hop movement and influenced many b-boys around the world by developing innovative and original movements. He has been practicing b-boying for 25 years and was in one of the first b-boy crews in France (Aktuel force founded in 1984). He has traveled the world during the spread of b-boying in different areas (creating shows, being on juries, on show and of course, the pedagogy). Karim was also a judge for the Battle of the Year France 2010 and 2011.
